Hi everyone! It’s Melinda. Welcome to Melinda’s Grief Corner! MGC comes out twice a month on Sundays. If this is your first time here, be sure to check out past posts to learn more about the inspiration behind this new Article Club feature and read about other grief-y topics I’ve covered with resources I’ve shared!
Today’s a tiny bonus newsletter from me, because in the U.S. today is Mother’s Day.
And I just wanted to acknowledge that today may feel particularly sticky and hard for our fellow grievers.
Whether you’ve lost your mom or someone who was like a mom to you, or you are a mom who has lost your children, or you are planning to be a mom and you’ve lost your mom, today can bring up a wave of grief.
Or maybe it doesn’t! However you feel today is completely valid.
No matter what, maybe you need some extra support today, so here are two resources that I hope will help you.
One is an article written by a grieving mom and what she wants to hear on Mother’s Day. And the second is an episode of the Good Mourning podcast full of tributes to moms, tips on how to cope, and listener reflections.
I’m sending you big hugs today and always.
