I lost a thank you note that my queer high school Spanish teacher wrote me. In it, she thanked me for the baby gift I had given her and thanked me for coming out to her in my accompanying card. I love love love this thank you card and have reread it hundreds of times. I knew I wanted to have it available to reread frequently, but in the past two years I haven't been able to find it. I worry I brought it SF to Boston hoping to have it closer (instead of under my bed in my parents' house) but that disrupted it. I'm hopeful it will find me again.

Once I lost my wallet for 2-3 weeks, and my friends told me I should stop my credit cards and get a new driver’s license. But who has time for that? Besides, I knew it *had* to be somewhere. And indeed it was: wedged deep down between my car’s passenger seat and the door. Aha! problem solved.

When you reach my age, :-), you "misplace" articles all the time, but luckily they miraculously appear out of nowhere, either in a few minutes or a short time. Losing a person in your life is an entirely different "kettle of fish". I am sad to say that I have done the latter as well.
