I have always been intersted in Native American culture, and I loved teaching it to younger children. I have read the article, and was so very moved by it! There is a GREAT deal to discuss.

Hello! Looking forward to reading and discussing this article. Separating indigenous families caused irreversible harm where I live and I'm hoping to always understand what were the effects of such policies.

i'm in! i haven't read this before but am interested in learning more about the nuances of motherhood and society's hypocrisy against women, particularly that of indigenous women. i have a lot of thoughts about how parenthood has become simultaneously inaccessible but also ??? is it part of the neoliberal project to convince us that our lives aren't fulfilled unless you become a parent ???

Thank you for sharing your interest in this discussion, Summer. Also I look forward to talking about “neoliberal” because sometimes I think I understand that word, and other times I don’t! :) (In other news, I’m going to be raffling Ms. Murdoch’s book! Do you think you might win?)

I am interested in Native American culture. Why did North Dakota write to a journalist about a woman and her desire to foster a child???? So White people get to determine who gets to be a mom??? This made my blood boil so I need to read the rest and see if entire article will make me equally mad.

Well, that makes me unhappy. I am trying to bring my blood pressure down from the daily enjoyment of the petrie dish I work in.
