Nellie Bowles’ article seemed to me arrogant and improbably inarticulate. The WaPo review provided exactly the panacea I needed to put my nose back in joint, thank you for providing it, Mark and Tess!

I was a crane wife for 33 years, and 2 before we married. I find myself wondering, how many women AREN'T crane wives?

That first one was pretty shocking. I also read the washington post review of her book, which is a scathing review. Interesting to put them into conversation!

"Bodies of culture" was a particularly dystopian phrase. . .

I read the WaPo review of her book. Thank you for mentioning it, Tess. Made me think: Maybe I should have read the review (or Bowles’s book) before recommending the article. Oh well.
