Looping, along with having more male teachers at every level, and a greater diversity among teachers, simply makes sense. This seems to be an easily doable fix.
The article on detracking was great. I really felt it when that one boy said, “The white kids are enriched.” He’d already learned that same lesson little black girls learned from dolls when only white dolls were available.
It was 105F and the ATT internet service for the entire district (and 3 others in the region) was down. Other than that, great day! Seriously, everyone adapted and made the best of things.
