The only thing I can remember winning was a raffle at the Hayward Public Library's end-of-summer reading celebration. I won tickets for my family to ride a train in Sunol! I still have such great memories of the summer reading challenge, and I think my first ever volunteer gig (besides alter-serving, of course) was at the library, marking children's scorecards with one of those bingo stamps.
