Let’s annotate: “Children in the Garden,” by Devin Kelly
Plus: Please sign up for this month’s discussion by this Sunday, April 17
This month, we’re reading “Children in the Garden: On Life at a 3,100-Mile Race,” by Devin Kelly. Big thanks to Jennifer, Lael, Hoang, Summer, Debra, Kevin, and Swati for already signing up for our April 24 discussion. It’s great to see so many new folks joining Article Club!
If you’re interested (especially if this will be your first discussion!), there’s still time to sign up (until this Sunday, April 17). Here’s more information about the article. Then click the big button below.
This week, we’re doing two things: (1) annotating the article together (2) sharing questions we’d like to talk about at our discussion.
#1: Let’s annotate
Here’s the copy of the article we can annotate together. Annotating is a great way to connect with other Article Clubbers and share your thoughts about the piece, right inside the text. You can build on others’ comments or add your own. Try it, you’ll like it! (Remember, we don’t have to perform or be fancy at AC.)
#2: Let’s share questions we’d like to talk about
Several of you have said, “It would be great if we brainstormed questions before meeting up. That way, we could see what people are interested in and also start thinking about topics and ideas before the discussion.” Let’s try it! If you have a question you’d like to explore, please share it in the comments.
Coming up this month
This week: We’ll annotate the article with fellow Article Clubbers.
Next week: We’ll have a discussion thread to kick things off.
Sunday, April 24: We’ll discuss the article with fellow Article Clubbers. Mr. Kelly will be joining us!
Are you new to Article Club? If so, welcome! We look forward to meeting you and having your voice in the conversation. Feel free to reach out with questions: mark@highlighter.cc.
Also, if you like Article Club, share it with a friend and encourage them to join!
