If you like Article Club but dislike email
Now you can read and listen to Article Club in a new app for iPhone and iPad
Dear Article Clubbers (and Book Clubbers),
This month, we’re reading, annotating, and discussing “On White Violence, Black Survival, and Learning to Shoot,” by Kim McLarin. Here’s more information if you want to sign up for our discussion on Sunday, March 27. If you’ve already signed up, thank you! Please feel free to annotate the article this week. Next week, I’ll publish an interview with Prof. McLarin so we can take in her thoughts on the piece.
This week, I have exciting news to share: You can now read and listen to Article Club in the new Substack app for iOS. If you have an iPhone or iPad (an Android app is coming soon), you may like this reading experience better than receiving Article Club in your email. Here’s more info or you can click “Get the app” below.
With the app, you’ll have a dedicated Inbox for Article Club and other Substack newsletters you subscribe to. New posts will never get lost in your email filters, or stuck in spam. (Many of you have complained about this.) Longer posts will never get cut off by your email app. Comments and rich media, like audio interviews with authors and other podcast episodes, will all work seamlessly. Overall, for folks who don’t much like email, it’s a big upgrade to the newsletter experience.
If you get the app, you can choose to receive Article Club both in your email and in the app, or just in the app. The Substack app is currently available for iOS. If you’re like me and don’t have an Apple device, you can join the Android waitlist here.
Thank you, and let me know what you think (and if you have questions),
Mark
