Hope you’re doing well, Article Clubbers, and thank you for being here.
Before anything else, I would like to express my gratitude to Mike, Shereen, Debra, Nicole, Hoang, Marcus, Jennifer, Summer, Peter, Toronzo, Bonnie, Telannia, and Sara for participating in last month’s discussion of “Children in the Garden: On Life at a 3,100-Mile Race.” Special thanks go to Mike, Shereen, Debra, Nicole, and Hoang — for joining Article Club for the very first time! — and to Summer, for winning the raffle. I’m also grateful to Mr. Kelly for his beautiful article.
A number of you have reached out the past week or so and asked, “Hey Mark, what’s happening? Why no article in May?”
The short answer is that my nephew is graduating this weekend (I’m proud of him), and many of you said Memorial Day weekend wouldn’t be ideal for a gathering.
The longer (and more selfish) answer is that our upcoming articles are outstanding, and I am very eager to discuss them with you!
I’m happy to announce that we’ll be reading the following three articles in June, July, and August. (The order hasn’t been determined.)
“When the Myth of Voter Fraud Comes for You,” by Vann R. Newkirk II
“Revolt of the Delivery Workers,” by Josh Dzieza
It is very generous of these talented authors to say yes to participating in Article Club, and I am hopeful that you’ll join me in conversation to dig deeply into their oustanding pieces.
If you’d like to mark your calendar, our discussions will be on June 26, July 24, and August 28 — from 2:00 to 3:30 pm PT on Zoom.
Please let me know if you have any questions. You can hit reply or leave them in the comments. Have a great week!
