Article Club is taking a break
It’s time to rest and reflect after 10-plus years and 500-plus issues
Dear Loyal Readers,
Happy Holidays. Thank you for being part of Article Club.
I am writing to announce that I will be taking a break from Article Club in the new year. After 10½ years, 524 issues, 142 podcast episodes, 61 author interviews, and 61 discussions, it’s time for some rest and reflection.
For now, I’m thinking I’ll be away for six months or so. My hope is that stepping back from my weekly publication schedule will help me take stock and figure out Article Club’s next steps.
When I launched this newsletter more than a decade ago, I never thought I would meet so many caring people who share my values about reading. Together we have built a reading community that believes in connection, empathy, and nuance.
I look forward to seeing you back here in July. Before then, I may reach out to ask for feedback as I think through Article Club’s next chapter.
Two quick notes:
If you’re a paid subscriber, your payments will be paused.
Melinda’s Grief Corner will also take a short break in January, then start up again every other week in February.
Thank you for reading Article Club and for trusting me with a small part of your reading life over the years. That trust has meant a great deal to me.
Until July — happy reading,
Mark

As a more recent subscriber, I’ve been enjoying looking back at what articles you’ve picked recently. Looking forward to seeing what’s next after you return from your sabbatical.
Congrats on taking a well deserved break. Would love to see what your top five articles were if you’re open to that.
